On Wednesday, October 12, 2016, 38 junior and senior female students had the opportunity to attend the Toyota Young Women Lead Conference on the campus of Ashland Community and Technical College.  In addition to attending breakout sessions covering subjects such as yoga, interviewing skills, volunteerism, and college, students also had the privilege of hearing a keynote speech by Julie Marie Carrier, former Miss Virginia and a previous coach on the MTV television series Made.  The opening session speaker was Nikki Bryant, a former boxer and current professor at ACTC.  This is the third year that Dawson-Bryant students have been invited to attend the Young Women Lead Conference.  The students are already looking forward to all that next year’s conference will have to offer!
