POSITION OPENINGS: The Dawson-Bryant Board of Education is accepting applications for the full-time position of School Safety and Security Director for the 2023-2024 school year. Applicants must have and maintain a valid certification as a Peace Officer in Ohio that enables the individual to carry a gun in a school safety zone, have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), have and maintain a valid first aid and CPR certification, and have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Applicants must also have relevant experience in law enforcement and/or school safety and security. School Resource Officer (SRO) training and experience highly preferred. General Description:
Complete a wide variety of secretarial/clerical work to provide organizational support and effective operation of the District.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or Five Years experience preferred
- Successful experience in a business office and/or school office environment
- Excellent keyboarding and general office skills
- Proficient in computer skills and knowledge of applications, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent telecommunication and organizational skills
- Able to work successfully with students, teachers, support staff, administrators, parents, and the community
Essential Functions:
- Provide organizational/secretarial/clerical support services in accordance with District policies and administrative guidelines, Operating Standards for Ohio Schools, and the provisions of State and Federal law
- Maintain confidential information, records, and files as required
- Answer telephones, greet visitors, and expedite questions and requests in a courteous and diplomatic manner
- Prepare reports, recommendations and input for Board reports and agendas as requested/assigned
- Maintain records as required by law, District policy, and administrative guidelines
