ACT Boot Camp
ACT Boot CampThe event was spearheaded by Dawson-Bryant High School; however, students from Rock Hill High School, Ironton  St. Joseph High School, and Collins Career Center participated in the event as well.  Dave Dobos from College Sense based in Gahanna, Ohio, visited Lawrence County for the day to share tips and strategies for students to increase their ACT composite scores.  Mr. Dobos covered general test taking strategies and then broke each content area down on the ACT for students providing numerous tips and examples along the way.  Since Mr. Dobos previously served on the undergraduate admissions review board at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he devoted the final hour of his presentation to providing students with information to pursue the college admissions process.  Following the seminar, Mr. Dobos praised the students in attendance and is already anticipating a return to Lawrence County in the future.  It is important to note that all Dawson-Bryant High School juniors will take the ACT at the high school on March 21, 2017 per the new graduation requirements set forth by the state of Ohio.  We hope to make the ACT Boot Camp an annual event for Dawson-Bryant students.
