Dawson-Bryant Elementary serves as the only feeder school for the before and after school program which is housed in the elementary school. Dawson-Bryant Elementary is in the southern Appalachian Ohio town of Coal Grove Ohio and is the only Kindergarten through Grade Five elementary school in the Dawson-Bryant School District. A total of one hundred per cent of the students that participated in Little Hornets were eligible for free or reduced lunch. In addition, twenty-two per cent of the participants were identified as students with disabilities.
The 2021-2022 Little Hornets program completed the third year of a five year 21st CCLC grant funding. The Little Hornets program was open to all students in grades Kindergarten through five at Dawson-Bryant Elementary School. The program began October 11th, 2022 and ended April 5th, 2023. The program operated 7:00 am to 8:00 am Monday through Friday and 2:30 pm to 4:45 pm Monday through Thursday. A nutritious snack was provided each afternoon by Dawson Bryant School District.
